INTRODUCTION Classdojo.com is a great Web 2.0 tool for elementary teachers to use with all their students grades K-5. It is a new way for teachers to do classroom point systems. Class Dojo lets you easily recognize positive and non desired behaviors while using your smartboard in the classroom. It even allows you to control via your smartphone or ipad. The greatest thing about the website is that it is free and takes minimal time to set up. It is a fairly new Web 2.0 tool and has been continually making impovements to create an even more useful tool for the classroom. Many teachers at the elementary level have used Class dojo tool and absolutely love what it has done for their classroom management.
INCORPORATING CLASS TOOLS INTO YOUR CLASSROOM Incorporating this Web 2.0 tool called Class Dojo could not be any easier. It was actually a lot of fun creating my class. First the teacher has to sign up for an account which was super easy. Then the teacher has to name her class and name of the students in his or her class. This process is really neat because you can get your students involved. They get to customize their name with a picture of an avatar and creates ethusiasm for the classroom management tool. The teacher also has the ability to customize the particular behaviors he or she wants to monitor. When a teacher notices a behavior from a student that can be rewarded, he or she can click on that student's avatar and choose the particular behavior displayed. It then flashes up on a screen with a sound to display the child's name and the positive behavior they were displaying. The tool also keeps track of non desired behaviors and allows the teacher to track those as well. The student who displays a non desired behavior will lose a point. This tool can be displayed on the smartboard and allows the teacher to create an environment where all the students can be engaged and monitor their classroom management. Another thing that is great about the Class Dojo Web 2.0 tool is that it creates a graph for the teacher to help see the overall amount of positive and non desired behaviors. This graph can be emailed to parents as well to show them how their particular child is doing with following with classroom behavior. Overall, I really think this is a great tool for elementary teachers and I plan on using it in my future classroom.

Carrie, I have never heard of this before. I am not sure if I would use this in High School or College if that is where I end up, however, its' use looks pretty cool. I like the idea behind creating a graph since I come from a Business background. It certainly appears very easy to get set up, however, I probably would not use it in my classroom due to age of students being older.
